William Emmanuel (otherwise William Many) on 17 May 1788 in the parish of Pembrey, with a three-footed wooden stool value 3d, struck Margaret David three mortal wounds (WALES 4/747/4).  He was condemned to death on 7 August, hanged on Saturday 9 August and afterwards his body was hanged in chains on Pembrey Mountain (C&iN).  Hereford Journal; Thursday 14 August reports "W E was hanged last Saturday at Carmarthen and afterwards his body hanged on Pembrey Common."
